C&L TRUEFLOW 85MM MAF SYSTEM FOR 1999-2000 LIGHTNING TRUCKS
The 85mm Lightning MAF system has increased performance by as much as 33 more rear wheel horsepower in independent testing on a Dynojet dynamometer. Like our other products, the 85mm utilizes the proper function of the factory Ford sensor for consistent performance from vehicle to vehicle. This package comes complete with a NEW 85mm mass airflow housing, mounting bracket assembly, K&N filter assembly with provision for air temperature sensor, installation tool, instructions and all necessary hardware for installation.
The kit completely replaces everything from the air meter forward and can be installed in 15 minutes. The increase in horsepower is coming from both the increase in total airflow through the package as well as from a resultant boost increase of up to 2 additional PSI. Due to this increase, the air/fuel ratio of the stock vehicle is adjusted by one point from 11:1 to a more aggressive 12:1. You must make sure that any aftermarket tune used in conjunction with this assembly DOES NOT remove any fuel, which could lean out the air/fuel ratio too much.
We have also developed a tune that is available together with the 85mm system as a complete kit. This package at $599 guarantees a minimum increase of 50 HP to the rear wheels, with an ET reduction of .6 seconds and an increase of 5-6 MPH in your trap speed.

crank pulley and Bassani equal length headers. He made more horsepower
than any other Lightning at the event, including those equipped with "6
psi" pullies and many more modifications than his vehicle. Notice the
almost perfect air/fuel ratio in the pull. This shows how well the chip
is tuned to the MAF unit's calibration. This vehicle has run as quick
as a 12.78 @ 106.5 MPH in the quarter mile, with a 1.88 60-foot time.
