C&L TRUEFLOW FILTER KITS FOR MODULAR FORD MUSTANGS
C&L TrueFlow Filter Systems are designed for
those who are looking for a complete low cost replacement for the
poor flowing original factory airbox used on all 1996-2004 Ford
Mustang GT, Cobra and Mach 1 vehicles. These kits are "meter
forward" packages for those people who are not interested in
upgrading the mass airflow unit at this time, yet still want the
flexibility to upgrade their inlet pipe and mass airflow units as
they see fit. Purchasing other "cold air" style systems do not allow
for this, as they often change the location of the air meter, which
causes fit issues when using an aftermarket inlet pipe that retains
the original air meter location. All mass airflow units are
calibrated with the air filter mounted directly in front of them,
which is why we do not reccomend using a remote mounted air

Doing so can adversely effect the MAF signal. Due to the fact that our
system comes with a molded cover that goes over the filter and helps to
hold it in place, only the cooler air from the fenderwell is allowed to
enter the filter. The quality and temperature of the air entering the
filter with this system is the same as with "cold air" kits and the
factory box, as even the factory filter assembly pulled air from out of
the fender well area. Each system comes complete with a mass airflow
filter adapter, adapter hardware, conical high performance air filter
and specific molded filter cover for each vehicle application.
Installation is quite easy, and can be performed by anyone in about 15
minutes.
C&L TRUEFLOW FILTER KITS FOR 03-04 COBRA MUSTANGS
For owners of 2003-2004 Cobra vehicles, this kit is designed to replace
everything in front of the factory mass airflow system. It comes
complete with MAF adapter, adapter hardware, conical air filter assembly
and custom heat shield made specifically for the supercharged '03-'04
Cobra. Performance is maximized by keeping the filter directly in front
of the air meter housing, protecting the filter with the custom shield
and drawing the colder air in from the fenderwell. This setup is a
complete filter solution, and is superior to remotely locating the air
filter away from the mass airflow unit, as placing a bend in front of
the mass airflow unit can effect the sensors reading. On these
vehicles, a realistic gain of about 17 rear wheel horsepower is typical.
Beware of claims of 20+ HP from a filter-only upgrade, as gains that
high can not be accomplished without manipulation of the air/fuel ratio.

C&L TRUEFLOW FILTER KITS FOR 03-04 MACH 1 MUSTANGS
For owners of 2003-2004 Mach 1 vehicles, this system is designed to
replace everything in front of the factory mass airflow system. It
comes complete with MAF adapter, Conical air filter assembly and custom
filter cover designed to retain the function of the original shaker
assembly used on the Mach 1. Performance is maximized by keeping the
filter directly in front of the air meter housing, protecting the filter
with the custom shield assembly and drawing the colder air in from the
fenderwell and shaker simultaneously. This setup is superior to simply
replacing your stock filter with a K&N, as the physical size of the
factory replacement filter does not provide enough capacity to maximize
the horsepower gain from the filter upgrade. On these vehicles, the
typical horsepower gain to be expected is about 6-7 at the rear wheels.
For an additional improvement, and to greatly enhance the underhood
appearance of the Mach 1 vehicle, you can add our aluminum C&L Trueflow
inlet pipe (part #713) to replace the large (and ugly) rubber inlet hose

C&L TRUEFLOW FILTER KITS FOR 96-04 MUSTANG GT AND 96-01 COBRA MUSTANGS
 For owners of
1996-2004 Mustang GT and 1996-2001 Cobra vehicles, this package is a
low cost upgrade to replace everything in front of the factory mass
airflow system. It comes complete with MAF adapter, Conical air
filter assembly and molded filter cover to hold the assembly in
place. Performance is maximized by keeping the filter directly in
front of the air meter housing, protecting the filter with the
custom shield assembly and drawing the colder air in from the
fenderwell. This setup is superior to remotely locating the air
filter away from the mass airflow unit, as placing a bend in front
of the mass airflow unit can effect the sensors reading. Performance
improvement will vary depending on vehicle, with gains ranging
anywhere from a low of about 5 HP to a high of about 8 HP at the
rear wheels. For an additional boost in performance, you can add one
of our C&L Trueflow inlet pipes to replace the stock hose that
runs between the mass airflow unit and throttle body. Gains provided
by the inlet pipe vary, but owners of 1996-1998 Cobra Mustangs may
see as much as 7-8 additional rear wheel horsepower due to the
