VIII. DYNO TEST - VEHICLE 5
We have received requests from customers about the benefits that may be achieved when installing our new plenum on the pre-'99 (Non-PI) 4.6L GT engines. The following dyno information was provided to us by Karl's East Coast speed in Warwick, Rhode Island.
The test vehicle is a mildly modified 1997 Mustang GT AUTOMATIC vehicle.
Prior to this testing, the vehicle already had a MAC throttle body and
a computer programming enhancement that optimized the air/fuel ratio.
The before and after numbers were tested with the same MAC throttle
body, so the gains shown are from the plenum swap only. After
installing the new plenum, they did have to adjust the fuel pressure 3/4
of a turn in to get the air/fuel ratio back to the same level as the
baseline. In other words, these before and after results are using the
same throttle body AND the same Air/Fuel ratio. This means that in
back-to-back testing, the plenum gave these improvements without any
other changes with the Air/Fuel ratio kept at a constant. Gains ranged
anywhere from 7-10 rear wheel horsepower, depending on engine RPM.

Torque was improved by as much as 10-15 Ft/Lbs in the low to mid RPM's,
with an average improvement of around 5 ft/lbs throughout the upper RPM's.
You will notice that these charts look different than most, and this is
due to the fact that they use the Dynapack dyno from Australia. The
software prints the results out in a much more vertical fashion than
most dynos, which makes the gains easier to see, but also makes the
curves look different than what most people are used to looking at. To
make things easier, we have pinpointed on these graphs exactly what the
gains were at different RPM's. Also of note is the "Acceleration G's"
graph. Given the vehicles' weight, this curve can actually illustrate
what kind of "seat of the pants" G-force improvement you will feel after
the installation of the product. Pretty neat...
